At Publix, we see our community as our extended family, and it’s part of our culture to take care of each other. As a grocery retailer, we feel our most significant opportunity to give back is to help our neighbors facing hunger.

Through our year-round efforts and during Hunger Action Month, we support our communities in these ways:

  • Good Together food donation program. Every day in stores, associates gather wholesome but unsalable grocery, deli, meat, seafood and produce items to give to food banks. This year, we’ve expanded the program to include more than 4,000 additional products for donation. Since 2009, Publix has donated more than 950 million pounds of food to nonprofits through this program. Because of these efforts, Publix is recognized as a Feeding America Visionary Partner.
  • Good Together hunger campaign. In 2021, we launched the biannual Good Together hunger campaign (formerly known as Feeding More Together). Customer donations provide nonperishable and additional perishable food needed most by local food banks and pantries. During every campaign, Publix also donates $5 million to purchase and deliver produce to Feeding America partner food banks.
  • Publix Serves. Twice a year, we hold Publix Serves Week so our associates can give back to their communities. During Hunger Action Month, associates volunteer their time to help organizations focused on feeding our neighbors in need.

In addition to Publix’s efforts, Publix Super Markets Charities has provided over $63 million since 2015 to Feeding America partner food banks and other nonprofit organizations as part of its commitment to nourish our communities.
